Report: Three new clubs emerge as contenders to sign Spurs defender

According to the latest reports from France, the race for Danny Rose’s signature looks to be heating up, with Paris Saint-Germain eyeing an approach for the left-back.

Jose Mourinho has already admitted that Rose’s future at Tottenham is difficult amid speculation of a possible move to Genoa (Daily Mail).

It was reported earlier in the week that the 30-year-old was edging closer to a move to Italian outfit but it now appears that the Serie A side might have considerable competition for the defender’s signature (The Daily Mirror).

Le10Sport has claimed that PSG have identified Rose as a potential target after they learned that left-back Juan Bernat will be sidelined for a significant portion of the season with an ACL injury.

However, it is revealed that the England international is not at the top of the Parisians’ wish list and he is likely to remain in the Premier League.

West Ham and Aston Villa are also reportedly interested snapping up Rose before the transfer deadline.

Spurs Web Opinion

I have been left surprised by the lack of rumoured interest from Premier League clubs in Rose. Given the experience, he has under his belt and the low fee he is likely to be available for, the 30-year-old could prove a valuable addition for many mid-table and bottom-half sides. I suspect Rose’s preference will be to stay in the Premier League and I still expect him to be snapped up by an English club before the window shuts.
