Report: Three other PL clubs enter race for Spurs and Liverpool target

According to The Daily Mail, several more Premier League clubs could be set to enter the race for Tottenham target Sofyan Amrabat ahead of the January transfer window.

Multiple publications over the last few weeks have named Spurs and Liverpool as the two clubs at the front of the queue for Amrabat’s signature (Foot Mercato and Relevo).

La Repubblica (15/12/22 as relayed by Sport Witness) even named Antonio Conte’s men as the club who are ‘the most interested’ in the 26-year-old ahead of January.

This has been contradicted by Gianluca Di Marzio who told SoccerNews this week that the Morocco international’s representatives are likely to push the player towards Liverpool rather than Spurs.

The journalist explained that while Conte is a fan of the Fiorentina star, the Italian is happy with the central midfield options he has at his disposal.

If The Daily Mail’s latest report is to be believed, the Lilywhites and Reds might have even more competition to contend with from Premier League rivals for Amrabat’s signature.

Apart from Tottenham and Liverpool, the report states that Chelsea, Newcastle United and West Ham United are also ‘eyeing’ the developments over the midfielder’s future.

Spurs Web Opinion

I expect the list of suitors for Amrabt to grow ahead of January, particularly from the Premier League, as the 26-year-old has the attributes necessary to thrive in English football.  I do not expect Tottenham to get involved in a bidding war for the 26-year-old as Conte will likely prioritise strengthening in other areas of the pitch in January.
