Report: Three Premier League clubs are circling star midfielder after Spurs links

According to a report in Kicker (as relayed by Bavarian Football Works), Barcelona have expressed an interest in rumoured Tottenham target Joshua Kimmich but the midfielder does not expect the La Liga giants to be able to strike an agreement with Bayern Munich.

Kimmich has not been a regular in Bayern’s starting eleven under Thomas Tuchel this season and several outlets have suggested that the experienced star could call time on his time at the Bundesliga club this summer.

This includes an update by The Guardian, who suggested back in February that Tottenham are plotting a £60m move for the midfielder.

It was subsequently reported by The Daily Mail that Manchester City and Barcelona are also eyeing the 29-year-old ahead of the summer window.

Kimmich does not expect Barcelona move

Kicker have now said that the Catalan giants have identified Kimmich as a potential option to replace Sergio Busquets this summer.

It is explained that while the German international would be willing to move to Camp Nou, he does not have faith in Barca to be able to pay the €70-€80m (£60.4m-£69m) that Bayern are expected to demand for his services.

The report adds that three unnamed Premier League clubs are also circling over the experienced midfielder while Real Madrid could also be a potential destination for him this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

While there is no doubt that Tottenham are in need of a top-class number six, Kimmich does not quite fit the age profile that the Lilywhites are likely to target. Ange Postecoglou’s are more likely to move for Atalanta’s Edeson, who appears to tick all the boxes.
