Report: Three Premier League clubs interested in signing Tottenham player

The Sun have revealed that Southampton, Crystal Palace and Everton are all interested in signing Tottenham winger Lucas Moura.

Moura completed his long-awaited return from his injury last Friday as he featured for Tottenham’s Under-21s in their 2-1 win over Arsenal, with the 30-year-old getting on the scoresheet in the first half.

Alasdair Gold suggested on the same day that the winger is open to leaving Spurs before the January window closes and suggested that his appearance for the Under-21s may have been to convince interested clubs of his fitness.

The Sun have now claimed that Spurs are looking to offload Moura now rather than waiting until his contract runs out in the summer.

The publication asserts that a ‘handful of Premier League clubs’, including Southampton, Crystal Palace and Everton, are eyeing the former Paris Saint-Germain star.

However, it is explained that the Tottenham star is hoping for a lucrative £150,000-a-week contract and that interested clubs might be put off by his exorbitant salary demands.

Moura would likely prefer to leave in the summer as a free agent as that would enable him to get a bigger contract at his next club. However, if one of the aforementioned three clubs do snap up the Brazilian before the window shuts, I fully expect Tottenham to go back in for Nicolo Zaniolo, particularly with Gil now seemingly edging closer to a move.
