Report: Tottenham academy youngster told he is free to find a new club

Football Insider report that Tottenham have told academy midfielder Dante Cassanova that he is free to find a new club.

Cassanova, a versatile midfielder who can also operate as a full-back, make his debut for Spurs’ Under-18s in 2020, making a total of 16 appearances in the Under-18 Premier League and FA Youth Cup during the 2020/21 campaign (Tottenhamhotspur.com).

The teenager has made a further 13 appearances for the Under-18s this season while also featuring twice for the Under-23s (Transfermarkt).

Football Insider claim the midfielder was hoping to secure a professional contract with the Lilywhites when his two-year scholarship deal expires this summer. However, Spurs have reportedly decided to release the youngster at the end of the season.

Cassanova is now thought to be on the lookout for a new club for next season. It is revealed that the midfielder previously had a trial at Championship side Derby County.

Spurs Web Opinion

The competition for places in Tottenham’s current Under-18 and Under-23 set-up is stronger than it has been for a long time. So, I am not surprised that Spurs have decided to release Cassanova. If the news is true, we at Spurs Web would like to wish the youngster the best for his future.
