Report: Tottenham accept offer for 28-year-old ahead of transfer window

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have accepted an offer from Paris Saint-Germain for Serge Aurier.

There has been plenty of speculation over the last few weeks linking Aurier with a potential move back to Paris this summer.

Reports from France previously indicated that Tottenham were keen to cash in on the right-back who has just over 12 months left to run on his contract and that he was on PSG’s shortlist.

It was claimed last week that negotiations between the Ligue 1 giants and Tottenham were progressing well, with the North Londoners valuing the player at €12m (£10.3m).

Football Insider now reveal that a bid for the Ivorian has been accepted by Spurs, with a deal “almost done” for the defender to return to the French capital.

Aurier was not in the matchday squad for Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Wolves on Sunday but his absence was reportedly due to an injury rather than being transfer related.

Aurier has had some solid spells over the course of the campaign but he simply has not managed to iron out the rough edges in his game. I suspect PSG are only settling for him since they are not in a position to spend big on a right-back due to their financial owes.
