Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed personal terms with Emerson Royal, the Barcelona right-back, ahead of a potential summer transfer deal.
Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth reported earlier this afternoon that personal terms would not likely pose a problem for the deal, with Spurs offering €25m plus another €5m in add-ons to Barcelona.
Matteo Moretto from Calciomercato then revealed that Tottenham were pushing hard for Emerson and had offered a very good salary, although the right-back had not said yes. ShayBT from BarcaTimes even claimed Emerson did not want to leave Barcelona.
Journalist Ekrem Konur took to Twitter to hint that a deal could be done ‘soon’, while Nicolo Schira tweeted Emerson Royal had agreed personal terms with Spurs over a €3m-per-year contract that would run until 2026.
Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Emerson was about to become a new Tottenham player, with the Spurs management working the finalise the details on a transfer.
Finally, Sami Mokbel from the Daily Mail claimed a £25.7m fee had been reached and while there was still work to be done, a significant hurdle had been overcome.
Spurs Web Opinion:
This looks to be a deal that is gathering pace. It really depends more on whether Emerson wants to join and perhaps whether Spurs can find a buyer for Serge Aurier before the transfer deadline.
