Report: Tottenham among four PL clubs interested in Crystal Palace star

The Sun have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are among four Premier League clubs who are interested in signing Crystal Palace left-back Tyrick Mitchell this summer.

Mitchell has been an ever-present in Palace’s starting line up and the youngster has been rewarded for his impressive performances by a call up to the England squad.

It emerged earlier this week that Antonio Conte wants to upgrade at left wing-back this summer as he is not convinced by Sergio Reguilon (Football Insider).

The report added that the Italian had given Tottenham the green light to cash in on the Spaniard this summer and reinvest the money into strengthening the squad.

If The Sun’s latest update is to be believed, Mitchell is one of the options the North London club have their eye on.

The report claims that Spurs, Manchester City, Newcastle United and Chelsea are all monitoring the 22-year-old’s progress ahead of the summer transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not sure Mitchell would be a good fit for Conte’s system unless the Italian views the Palace youngster as an option for the left centre-back role. While Mitchell is an extremely talented defender, I do not think he offers enough going forward to play as a left wing-back.
