Report: Tottenham among host of clubs monitoring £17m-valued RB Leipzig defender

Tottenham are among a number of clubs monitoring RB Leipzig defender Nordi Mukiele, according to the Mirror.

The repot notes that Spurs have been tracking the 24-year-old in recent months and have now been offered the chance to sign him after the defender made his decision to leave the German side in the summer transfer window.

The report adds that Leipzig value Mukiele at around £17 million and have also approached Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain to take him on, although the Ligue 1 side’s interest has been described as ‘lukewarm’.

Mukiele has one year remaining on his current deal (Transfermarkt) and a departure could bring an end to a four-year spell at the club.

He joined Leipzig in the summer of 2018 and has grown into a versatile defender and claimed his first international cap for France last September.

With Spurs after another right-sided defender this summer, Mukiele could be a fine addition if they can secure a deal.

He has plenty of top level experience and that price looks to be a snip, but as already established, it could be a tricky deal to complete with the other clubs interested in his signature.
