Report: Tottenham and Arsenal both interested in Real Madrid full-back

Tottenham and Arsenal are both interested in signing Real Madrid left-back, Sergio Reguilon, according to the latest reports from Spain.

With Danny Rose expected to leave Spurs permanently when the transfer market reopens (Independent), the club could be in the market for a left-back in the summer.

Reguilon, who came through the Real Madrid academy, broke into the Los Blancos first-team last season and put in some encouraging displays.

He has spent the current season on loan at Sevilla and displaying his attributes on a more consistent basis with regular game time.

ABC Sevilla reports that he is now generating interest from several big clubs around Europe, with Spurs and Arsenal both said to be keen on moving for him.

Borussia Dortmund are also reportedly interested in the full-back’s signature but it is asserted that a decision over his future will depend on whether Zinedine Zidane wants to keep him next season.

Reguilon is said to be valued at around £17.5 million, according to a report in Marca.

Spurs Web Opinion

Reguilon will be an excellent signing as not only does he have a great left-foot but he has the physical attributes to be a success in the Premier League. However, if we do sign him, it will be a blow to Sessegnon’s hopes of establishing himself in the side next season. I cannot see the former Fulham man playing too often as a left-winger or a left-sided forward in a front three. I believe left-back is where Sessegnon is more likely to break into the side and that will likely be his position long-term.
