Report: Tottenham and Arsenal to go head to head for £50m England star

Toby Alderweireld looks set to leave Tottenham in the summer after the club took up an option to extend his contract by two years which activated a clause that will allow the Belgian leave for £26 million in the summer.

Tottenham are thus reported to be in the search for a replacement with the likes of Joachim Andersen and Nathan Ake being linked with the club.

The latest player to be linked with a move to the club in the summer is Everton defender Michael Keane.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Spurs will go head to head against their North London rivals Arsenal for the 26-year-old’s signature.

Keane, who came through the Man Utd youth set up initially struggled at Everton after moving from Burnley for a £25 million deal back in 2017.

However, the centre half has been in fantastic form this season and earned his place back in Gareth Southgate’s England side.

While there is no doubt that Keane will be a valuable addition to the squad, one would think Spurs will be able to find better value for money elsewhere given the fee being branded about.
