Several young players have arrived through the door of Tottenham’s academy over the last 12 months and the North London club have also appointed Andy Scoulding and Gretar Steinsson to help with the recruitment of youngsters.

The Daily Record have now revealed that the Lilywhites are eyeing Hearts academy striker James Wilson, who is reported to be turning a lot of heads.

The 16-year-old striker, who is yet to make his senior debut for the Scottish Premiership club, is also alleged to be on the radars of Celtic, Rangers and Manchester United while Hearts are said to be determined to hold on to the youngster.

In addition, Spurs are also said to be monitoring Hayden Borland, who is on the books of Scottish Championship side Partick Thistle. Celtic have also been credited with an interest in Borland while the teenager is reported to have been on trial at Liverpool recently.

There is no doubt that Scoulding would have been responsible for identifying the two aforementioned talents as the 41-year-old will be well versed with the young, up-and-coming talent in Scotland on the back of the five years he spent in Glasgow as Rangers’ chief scout.
