Report: Tottenham and Leicester looking at Ajax defender

Tottenham Hotspur have struggled in defence so far this season, but right-back has undoubtedly been Pochettino’s problem position.

So far, Kyle Walker-Peters, Serge Aurier, Moussa Sissoko, and Davinson Sanchez have played there, while Eric Dier and Juan Foyth continue to be potential options.

No one player has been able to tie down the title of first-choice, with Aurier starting the majority of recent games but turning in some horror performances.

The Ivorian was sent off against Southampton, was woeful against Bayern, and then gave away a penalty away to Liverpool last weekend.

AS Roma Live now report that Tottenham and Leicester City are both looking at Ajax right-back Noussair Mazraoui ahead of the January transfer window.

The Ajax man is a right-back by trade, but can also play at left-back or defensive midfield, with Pochettino always being a fan of versatility.

The 21-year-old broke into the Ajax team last year and has been a regular ever since.

Spurs Web Opinion:

At this stage, anything is better than what Spurs have got. My two preferences would be Max Aarons and Youcef Atal, but Mazraoui has always been impressive when I have seen him too.
