Report: Tottenham and Liverpool have cooled interest in 28-year-old midfielder

90 min have claimed that Tottenham’s interest in Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has now cooled.

Spurs are expected to strengthen in central midfield this summer, with reports over recent weeks indicating that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could be allowed to leave the club (The Sun) and that Ange Postecoglou is keen on adding another midfield enforcer to his squad (Football Insider).

Rabiot, whose contract with Juventus runs out at the end of this month, was previously thought to be on Tottenham’s radar, with Gazzetta Dello Sport reporting a few months ago that the North London club were keeping a close eye on the Frenchman’s contract situation.

Spurs, Liverpool, and Newcastle cool on Rabiot race

However, 90 min have now suggested that Spurs are no longer as keen as they once were on signing the 28-year-old.

The report asserts that Newcastle United and Liverpool have also cooled their interest in Rabiot but Manchester United are continuing to monitor the player.

The publication adds that Juventus are looking to tie the former Paris Saint-Germain star to a new contract and are now confident of doing so.

While Rabiot has the attributes as a player to fit into Postecoglou’s system, the Frenchman would not be a good cultural fit, as the Australian would want to work with younger players, who are willing to take instructions on board and keep learning.
