Report: Tottenham and Man Utd both contact agent about French attacker

According to a new report from French outlet Media Foot, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are keeping tabs on Rennes attacker Martin Terrier, and have contacted his agent for information.

The 25-year-old joined Rennes from Lyon back in the summer of 2020, but really came to prominence last season, registering 21 goals and seven assists in 46 games (Transfermarkt).

Terrier has continued that form this campaign, too, with 11 goals and four assists in the first 20 games of the season for Rennes (Transfermarkt).

This purple patch almost saw Terrier called up for the France squad for the 2022 World Cup. He didn’t make the squad, and has only represented his country at U21 level at this point (Transfermarkt).

It seems Terrier has been turning heads over in the Premier League, as Media Foot report that both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are keen on bringing him to England.

The report claims both clubs have already spoken to Terrier’s agent to discuss “the will of the player, his salary expectations and the conditions of a possible transfer.” Nevertheless, it is believed to be too early to suggest anything concrete at this stage, but progress is apparently being made.

Spurs Web Opinion

I wasn’t aware of Martin Terrier’s excellent period of form over in France, but he certainly sounds like he’s on fire at the moment. While those numbers are impressive, we have to be careful not to jump the gun and ensure he is the kind of player who can adapt to the English game and still perform to a good standard.
