Report: Tottenham and Newcastle interested in Leeds United star this summer

Tottenham are thought to be interested in signing Leeds United winger Jack Harrison ahead of the summer transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.

Spurs attempted to land the 25-year-old in January having been impressed with his opening two Premier League seasons but were rebuffed by Yorkshire outfit, who were not considering a sale at the time (Telegraph).

The report added that Spurs have retained their interest with managing director Fabio Paratici being briefed on Harrison by Andrea Pirlo, who played with him at MLS side New York City.

And Tottenham’s pursuit of Harrison looks set to continue heading into the summer, with the Daily Mail reinforcing the club’s chase for the former England U21 international.

The report adds Harrison also has suitors in the form of Newcastle, who are keen on luring him to Tyneside after securing a mid-table finish.

Harrison has spent his last four seasons at Leeds, including loan stints from Manchester City, and has emerged as one of the main men at Elland Road.

He has made 166 appearances for the club while having a direct contribution to 50 goals in that time (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

Harrison has been a constant fixture in the Leeds side since he first joined the club from Man City and he really stepped up in the second half of the season to help keep the club in the Premier League.

Although he has the talent and quality at times, Tottenham signing him would be one for depth more than anything but it could be one to keep tabs on going forward.
