Report: Tottenham and Sevilla are interested in Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder

Tottenham are interested in Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Daichi Kamada but may have difficulty signing the 25-year-old if he signs a new contract, according to SportBILD (18/05/22 edition – via Sport Witness).

Kamada has enjoyed a strong season with Frankfurt and has held a key role in the German side’s run all the way to lifting the Europa League trophy last night.

Their campaign is expected to draw attention ahead of the opening of the transfer window this summer, with the Japan international likely to be one of the names in the spotlight.

Tottenham were linked with Kamada last summer in what would have been a £26 million deal, but a transfer never came to fruition which led to a stay in Germany (SportBILD).

The publication now claims that Spurs have identified him as a target to bolster Antonio Conte’s squad, with the midfielder thought to have ‘toyed’ with a transfer for some time.

However, the report adds that Kamada, who is out of contract in 2023, could still remain with Frankfurt beyond this season and signing fresh terms with the club has not yet been ruled out, while Sevilla are also interested in him.

Kamada has turned out on 34 occasions in all competitions this term and has notched 19 direct goal contributions in the process (Transfermarkt).

Kamada could be a solid creative option that Tottenham may look to bring in and it looks like it would be at a fairly moderate price too. But there is the prospect of him signing a new contract which could put any talk of a transfer to bed, so this should be one to monitor going forward.
