Report: Tottenham are considering move to re-sign 25-year-old forward

A Bola have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are now evaluating a potential summer move to re-sign Marcus Edwards from Sporting Lisbon.

Edwards is having an impressive season at the Portuguese capital, with the winger having managed 15 goal contributions across all competitions for the table toppers.

The report says that Ruben Amorim’s side wish to keep the Spurs academy graduate at the club, with the Portuguese coach very much counting on the youngster.

However, it is explained that Sporting will listen to offers that come their way for the 25-year-old, although they have no intention to lose him on the cheap.

A Bola say that a few English clubs are now studying the possibility of making a move for Edwards, including his former club, Tottenham.

It is explained that Sporting will not consider offers of less than €20m (£17m) for the silky left-footer but it is pointed out that Spurs can sign him for a discount since they have a 35 per cent sell-on clause on the player.

The publication adds that Edwards is keen on playing in the Premier League in the future and that Crystal Palace are also now ‘assessing conditions’ for a potential summer move.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham could find themselves quite short in homegrown numbers if Oliver Skipp and Ryan Sessgnon leave in the summer, which might be why the club are considering moves for English talent such as Conor Gallagher, Morgan Gibbs-White, Ivan Toney, Jarrad Branthwaite, Lloyd Kelly and now Edwards.
