Report: Tottenham are considering re-signing 27-year-old this summer

According to talkSPORT, Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move to bring Kyle Walker-Peters back to the club.

Walker-Peters, who came through Tottenham’s academy before breaking into the first-team under Mauricio Pochettino, has built a reputation as one of the most consistent full-backs in English football since his move to Southampton four years ago.

It might have come as a surprise to many when the defender remained at the South Coast last summer despite the Saints’ relegation.

Walker-Peters could be heading back to Spurs

However, it is suggested that the right-back could be on his way out of St Mary’s this summer, with a return to his boyhood club now reportedly on the cards.

Walker-Peters is thought to fit the profile of the type of attack-minded full-back Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou wants, with the Lilywhites thus plotting to re-sign the England international.

With the defender having just a year left on his contract, it is revealed that Southampton would be forced to sell him if they do not win promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs.

Walker-Peters would tick a number of boxes for Tottenham, being technically gifted, homegrown and capable of operating in both full-back areas. Tottenham should be all over this deal if Southampton fail to win promotion.
