Report: Tottenham are continuing to monitor forward with 24 goals this season

HITC have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to monitor Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy ahead of the summer transfer window.

Guirassy is having an outstanding season at the MHP Arena, with 24 goals from 22 Bundesliga games so far. Harry Kane is the only player in German football who has scored more goals than him this campaign.

The forward’s future has been the source of much speculation over the last couple of transfer windows and HITC now reveal that the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal did explore a move for him in January.

Spurs are still interested in Serhou Guirassy

The report says that although the moves did not go through in January, Guirassy was open to making a New Year Switch.

It is asserted that the striker has since turned down a new contract offered to him by Stuttgart and is attracted by the idea of taking on a new challenge in the Premier League this summer.

The 27-year-old is thought to be on the radar of several English sides, with Spurs, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Wolves, Fulham and West Ham alleged to have watched the player in action over recent months.

It is explained that Guirassy’s £15m release clause will once again become active this summer, with clubs from Italy and Spain also said to be keeping a close eye on the centre-forward’s situation.

Given Guirassy’s low release clause, one would expect plenty of competition for his services next summer.

Moving for the Stuttgart star over someone like Ivan Toney or Santiago Gimenez might potentially allow Tottenham to use the bulk of their transfer budget towards signing a top-quality winger and a world-class number six.
