Report: Tottenham are expected to complete transfer ‘in the next few days’

Tottenham Hotspur could be set to complete the permanent signing of Dejan Kulusevski in the ‘next few days’ according to reports out of Italy.

Dejan Kulusevski joined Tottenham on a long-term loan deal back in January of last year, and has been an impressive addition to the Lilywhites’ roster.

The Swedish attacker contributed five goals and eight assists last season (Transfermarkt) as Spurs marched to a top-four finish.

However, this season has been a different story for the 23-year-old, with injury issues hampering his progress. Kulusevski has managed just two goals and eight assists across 37 appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt).

The move to bring Kulusevski to North London from Juventus included a £30.4 million purchase clause that would be activated if Spurs qualified for the Champions League this year (Fabrizio Romano).

Despite the fact that hasn’t happened, and contrary to murmurs that the club were considering not signing Kulusevski permanently, the latest from Tuttosport suggests the deal could go through imminently.

Kulusevski may have struggled for form this year, but it is believed he “continues to be esteemed” at Tottenham and the club are keen to bring him in full-time as soon as possible.

More specifically, it is thought the deal “could be completed in the next few days.” The only issue is the fee, as Tottenham may not be able to secure the original price they negotiated last year.

Nevertheless, Juventus are “confident about a figure that is very close to that threshold.” Given their financial status, the fee is expected to be a “godsend” for the Italian giants.

While “an agreement between Tottenham and Juventus remains to be found” right now, the discussions between the two clubs are “alive” and well.

Kulusevski may have had a difficult season this year, but that could be said of most of the Spurs squad. He’s got plenty of talent and is definitely a player we should be keeping hold of.
