Report: Tottenham are expected to make a bid for 25-year-old this week

The Daily Mail have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are expected to launch an offer for Raphinha this week.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Tottenham’s North London rivals Arsenal submitted an opening bid for Raphinha this week but it was turned down as it fell short of Leeds’ valuation.

The journalist revealed that apart from the two North London clubs, Chelsea and Barcelona are also on the winger’s trail, but the Catalonian club’s pursuit of the player is complicated by their financial problems.

Fabrizio Romano took to social media to reveal that Spurs had informed Leeds they intend to bid for Raphinha this summer.

Romano then offered another update on the Brazilian’s future on Wednesday, stating that the Elland Road hierarchy had informed interested clubs that Raphinha would cost £65m.

This has now been backed up by The Mail, who state that Leeds will not let Raphinha leave if their £65m valuation is not met.

The publication added that while the Gunners’ opening bid fell well short of that mark, Antonio Conte’s men are expected to make their first offer over the coming days.

Spurs Web Opinion

Even though Raphinha is a fantastic talent, I cannot see us paying £65m for the Brazilian, especially given Dejan Kulusevski’s impact since arriving at the club. I think Spurs would rather spend that amount on a versatile forward like Richarlison.
