Football Insider have claimed that Pierre-Emile Hojbejrg’s spell at Tottenham is expected to come to an end during the January transfer window.
Late moves to Atletico Madrid and Fulham broke down on transfer deadline day for Hojbjerg, with the La Liga side reportedly not being able to meet Spurs’ asking price (Fabrizio Romano) while the player was not thought to be too keen on a switch to Craven Cottage (Daily Mail).
There remains the possibility of a move to Turkey for the midfielder, with clubs in the country being able to add players to their squad until September 15. In fact, Tottenham have already offloaded Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele to Galatasaray this week.
Hojbjerg will stay at Tottenham for the time being
However, Football Insider have now asserted that Spurs have no interest in listening to proposals from Turkey or Saudi Arabia for Hojbjerg.
The publication alleges that the Dane is expected to stay put in N17 for the time being as the North London club have now ‘blocked’ the possibility of an exit.
It is alleged that a move during the January window is the most likely outcome for the midfielder.
Spurs Web Opinion
With Tottenham no longer being able to sign a replacement, it would make no sense to offload Hojbjerg. Besides, I doubt if the 28-year-old would be open to a move to Saudi Arabia or Turkey.
He will be hoping that Atletico reignite their interest in his services in January and are able to strike a deal with Spurs this time around.
