Report: Tottenham are eyeing potential move for 23-year-old Brighton star

According to Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella ahead of the summer transfer window.

The wing-back areas have been an issue for Antonio Conte at Spurs this season, given how reliant the Italian’s teams are on their two wide players to create chances.

While Matt Doherty delivered impressive attacking output prior to his injury, the left wing-back area has been more of a concern, with neither Sergio Reguilon nor Ryan Sessegnon making the kind of impact the Spurs boss would have hoped for.

Football Insider reported back in March that Conte had given the green light for Reguilon to be sold and for a new left wing-back to be brought in the summer.

If Fichajes’s latest update is to be believed, Cucurella has emerged as a target for the role. The Spaniard has had an impressive first season in the Premier League since his move from Getafe last summer.

According to Fichajes, the 23-year-old’s stay at the Amex Stadium could prove short-lived, with Spurs hot on his trail.

Cucurella has done quite well at left wing-back for Brighton this season but he has not been able to produce the same sort of attacking output as he did at Getafe. Perhaps that is a case of the Spaniard taking time to get adjusted to the demands of the Premier League.
