Report: Tottenham are in talks with £34m-rated attacking midfielder

Todo Fichajes have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Real Betis midfielder Nabil Fekir.

Tottenham have been one of the busiest clubs in terms of incomings so far this summer, with Djed Spence expected to be the club’s sixth signing of the transfer window (Fabrizio Romao).

However, reports indicate that Spence might not be the last player to arrive through the door at Hotspur Way this summer, with the North London club also thought to be on the lookout for a creative midfielder (Evening Standard).

The likes of Lyon’s Lucas Paqueta and Leicester City’s James Maddison have been mooted as potential targets for Lilywhites (Football.London).

According to Todo Fichajes, Spurs have now entered the race for Fekir’s signature, with the report stating that Antonio Conte’s men are competing with AC Milan for the Frenchman.

It is alleged that both Milan and Tottenham are currently holding talks with the midfielder’s representatives regarding a transfer.

It is asserted that while Betis value the 29-year-old at €40m (£33.9m), and although Fekir is happy at the La Liga club, he could be tempted to depart this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I fully expect Tottenham to sign an attacking midfielder before the window slams shut so that Conte would have the tactical flexibility to switch to a 3-5-2 formation if needed. Fekir would certainly fit the bill and is not likely to be too expensive. So, I can see there being some truth to this speculation.
