Report: Tottenham are locked in a four-way battle for Leicester City star

According to CalcioMercato, Tottenham Hotspur are one of four clubs vying to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.

Tielemans has been a consistent performer for Leicester since arriving at the club in 2018 but his future at the King Power Stadium is in doubt, with the midfielder’s current deal only running up until 2023 (Transfermarkt).

90 min revealed in February that the midfielder had knocked backed several contract offers from the Foxes and has no intention of extending his deal.

The Belgian international is reported to be on Tottenham’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window (Don Balon) but Arsenal and Manchester United are also thought to be keen on his signature (The Sun).

CalcioMercato have now claimed that Spurs face competition from Man Utd and Liverpool for Tielemans’ signature while Juventus have also now joined the race for the midfielder.

The report adds that the former Monaco man is likely to prefer a move to another Premier League club over a switch to Juve.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tielemans has not been in great form this season but that could be down to the fact that he has made up his mind to leave Leicester this summer. I would certainly take him at Spurs as a replacement for Winks. The Belgian’s contract situation means that he is unlikely to prove too expensive.
