Report: Tottenham are looking at signing 26-year-old midfielder on a free transfer

HITC have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move to sign Wilfred Ndidi, whose current contract with Leicester City runs out in June.

A couple of years ago, Ndidi was seen by many as one of the best number sixes in the Premier League but the midfielder was one of several Leicester players to underperform considerably last season as the Foxes went down.

While Enzo Maresca’s men look on course to bounce straight back up, they look set to lose the experienced midfielder on a free transfer this summer.

Tottenham alert to Wilfried Ndidi situation

HITC say that Ndidi looks set to leave King Power Stadium irrespective of whether Leicester manage to win promotion or not.

It is alleged that the Nigeran international is of interest to Saudi Pro League clubs but he will be handed a chance to remain in English football this summer.

Tottenham are named as one of the clubs keeping tabs on the 27-year-old’s situation ahead of the transfer window. However, the Lilywhites are not alone, with the likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle, Brighton and Wolves also said to be eyeing a move for Ndidi.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham are expected to be in the market for a number six but one would expect the club to look at higher-calibre players than Ndidi. The Leicester star has been pretty average for the last couple of years and would not be an upgrade over Bissouma or even over Hojbjerg.
