Report: Tottenham are now at risk of losing big-money player on a free transfer

The Daily Mirror have claimed that Tottenham are now at risk of not finding any buyer for Tanguy Ndombele this summer after his struggles at Galatasaray this season.

The report backs up what some Turkish outlets have already said regarding Ndombele, stating that Galatasaray will pass on the £13m option to buy the midfielder, who is set to return to Hotspur Way this summer.

It is explained that Ange Postecoglou gave the France international the chance to ‘turn over a new leaf’ upon arriving at Spurs last summer.

However, the 27-year-old failed to make an impression on the Australian and there is thus thought to be no way back for him at the North London side.

Spurs may not get any fee for Tanguy Ndombele

The Mirror suggest that Ndombele’s fitness struggles in Turkey might dash hopes that Tottenham had of getting a ‘credible fee’ for the player this summer.

With the former Lyon man entering the final year of his contract this June, the Lilywhites are expected to look to offload him permanently.

However, the publication asserts that Postecoglou’s men could realistically lose Ndombele on a free transfer if they fail to find a buyer over the coming months.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham should have ideally looked to cash in on Ndombele last summer after he showed some glimpses of his quality at Napoli.

The club might have been able to make at least £10m from the 27-year-old’s last summer but it looks quite unlikely that anyone would want to pay a fee for the midfielder this summer.
