Report: Tottenham are now ‘close to agreeing deal’ for Adama Traore

According to The Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur are now ‘close to agreeing’ a deal for Wolves star, Adama Traore.

The report claims the two Premier League clubs are edging closer towards a final deal and Traore looks likely to leave Molineux in January.

With the 25-year-old’s contract running out in the summer of 2023, the winger allegedly does not want to sign a new deal with Wolves.

While Wolverhampton rejected a £15m bid from Tottenham earlier this week, holding out for something closer to £20m (The Telegraph), it is thought the two clubs are not far apart in negotiations.

As such, senior figures at Wolves expect an agreement will be reached in the next week and a half before the transfer window slams shut.

Antonio Conte and Tottenham may be eyeing Traore up as an option at right-wing-back, with the Italian adopting a three-at-the-back system.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Agree with it or not, Traore appeared to be Tottenham’s top January target so it is important they get it over the line. With the international break coming up, it doesn’t particularly matter when Spurs get it done, just that they do actually get it done.
