Report: Tottenham are now ‘concerned’ about possible Son Heung-min exit

Dean Jones has claimed via GiveMeSport that there are concerns at Tottenham regarding whether Son Heung-min could also ask to leave the club if Harry Kane departs this summer.

The speculation over Kane’s future shows no signs of slowing down as we head closer to the summer.

Some publications have claimed over the last week that the striker has decided against signing a new contract, with Man Utd said to be hopeful of agreeing on a deal with Spurs for the centre-forward (Daily Star).

Jones has now suggested that a big worry for Tottenham this summer is the domino effect the England captain’s departure would have on the future of Son.

It is asserted that the South Korean, who has two more years left on his contract at Spurs, is the next man the Lilywhites would fear losing.

He adds that concerns over Son’s departure have begun to surface in the past year, particularly after the forward’s goal output has dropped off significantly this season.

Jones asserts that Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are ‘known admirers’ of the 30-year-old.

Spurs Web Opinion

Son has proven to be extremely loyal over the course of his career and I do not think he is the type of character to agitate for a move.

In fact, I would not be surprised if he signed a contract extension sooner rather than later, which might be the last big contract of his career.
