TEAMtalk have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur is Lloyd Kelly’s most likely destination if the centre-back does leave Bournemouth in January.
Last week, we relayed an update from Fabrizio Romano who claimed that AC Milan and Juventus had also entered the race for Kelly’s signature.
On Monday, Football Insider stated that Spurs are now also expected to face competition from Liverpool for the Bournemouth star.
It was explained that the Reds want to sign a versatile defender and Kelly’s ability to play at centre-back and left-back appeals to Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Spurs are at the front of the queue for Lloyd Kelly
TEAMtalk have now asserted that Tottenham hold ‘the best chance’ of winning the race for the 25-year-old in January. The outlet states that Spurs are Kelly’s ‘most favoured destination’ if he is to leave the Vitality Stadium during the winter.
However, it is explained that the Cherries intend to remain stubborn and hold on to the centre-back until his contract runs out next summer.
This is because the South Coast club have decided that it would be too risky to sell Kelly in January as he is too important in their fight to avoid relegation.
Spurs Web Opinion
Preserving their Premier League status is worth far more for Bournemouth than the few million they would lose out on by not selling Kelly in January. So, Andoni Iraola’s side are not likely to budge in January unless Spurs or any of the other suitors make a ridiculous offer for the centre-back.
