Report: Tottenham are now looking at Bayern Munich man as possible target

Kicker journalist Georg Holzner has revealed that Bayern Munich technical director Marco Neppe has now emerged as a target for Tottenham.

Marco Neppe, who spent most of his playing career in the lower leagues in Germany, joined Bayern Munich as a scout after hanging up his boots.

He eventually became the head of scouting at the club and was finally promoted to the role of technical director in 2021 (Transfermarkt).

Holzner has now taken to social media to reveal that there are doubts over whether the 36-year-old will remain at the Allianz Arena beyond the end of this season.

The journalist added that the German has now emerged as a candidate to replace Fabio Paratici at Spurs as the North London club continues their search for a new sporting director.

This report comes a couple of days after Alasdair Gold revealed via Football.London that AS Roma director Tiago Pinto, ex-Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Tim Steidten, and another unnamed candidate are in the running for the Tottenham job.

Spurs Web Opinion

One can understand why Spurs are taking their time and assessing a number of candidates for the sporting director role as it is arguably even more important than the managerial appointment.

The director who comes in will dictate the club’s footballing philosophy and recruitment strategy while also being tasked with building the right culture at the club.
