Reports linking Tottenham with a move for Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg show no signs of dissipating any time soon.
Despite news of Everton’s £25 million offer for the Southampton midfielder reportedly complicating matters for Spurs (Eurosport journalist, Calin Mates), the North Londoners are still said to be confident of getting a deal for the midfielder over the line (Telegraph).
Sky Sports claimed earlier this week that Spurs were edging closer to agreeing on a deal for the Denmark international, with Kyle Walker-Peters potentially going the other way.
Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) now claim that the Lilywhites are ‘on the verge’ of having a deal agreed for Hojbjerg.
They suggest that, although Inter Milan were keen on signing the 24-year-old, Spurs are expected to win the race for his signature.

Based on the reports over the last week or so, it looks like it is only a matter of time before Spurs seal the signing of Hojbjerg. Whether or not he can be the man to make the difference, or whether he is simply a cheaper option, only time will tell. But, it would be nice to see a deal agreed sooner rather than later.

Holjbjerg in his last 36 appearances scored one goal and one assist. His passes have a lowly 77% success rate. His market value is 12M. If others are willing to offer 25M that’s their problem. He has the style and doggedness of a rugby player. But he did put in a good performance against Spurs and I wonder if that’s why Mourinho is so doggone impressed.
