Report: Tottenham are one of five clubs interested in £19.8m centre-back

Tottenham are one of five clubs interested in signing Kim Min-jae this summer with his future set to be resolved after his agents meet with Fenerbahce chiefs, according to Takvim.

The South Korea international has emerged as one of the Super Lig’s best defenders since joining Fenerbahce from Beijing Guoan last August.

He made 39 appearances in all competitions last season (Transfermarkt) as the Turkish giants finished runners-up in the league and reached the Round of 32 in the Europa Conference League.

And Kim’s performances have resulted in him becoming a wanted asset, with a host of clubs across Europe thought to be keen on a transfer.

Turkish outlet Takvim have claimed the 25-year-old, who has a release clause valued at €23 million (£19.8m), has a number of ‘serious suitors’ in the form of Tottenham, Everton, AC Milan, Napoli and Sevilla.

This comes after Ekrem Konur reported that Tottenham could turn to Kim Min-jae if their pursuit of Alessandro Bastoni fell through.

Although the scope of the aforementioned sides’ interest is not stated, the report adds that Kim’s representatives are set to meet with Fenerbahce chief Ali Koc in Istanbul to clarify the defender’s future and run through any existing offers on the table.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham continue to be one of the clubs linked with signing Kim and that seems to have increased after his solid season for Fenerbahce.

He would be a good addition in terms of depth and at a pretty reasonable price, but there are other options out there that may be a better fit.
