Report: Tottenham are one of five PL clubs looking at Sporting Lisbon striker

HITC have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have now entered the race for Viktor Gyokeres and are one of five Premier League clubs plotting a move for the Sporting Lisbon star ahead of the summer.

Gyokeres is having an astonishing campaign at Lisbon, having managed a whopping 50 goal contributions (36 goals and 14 assists) across all competitions so far.

Understandably, a whole host of clubs across the continent, including clubs from the Premier League, are now thought to be considering a move for the centre-forward when the transfer window opens in June.

HITC say that AC Milan are confident of luring the striker to the San Siro while Borussia Dortmund have also expressed an interest in the player.

However, they have also been joined by English clubs, prime among those being Arsenal, who are thought to be keen on securing a centre-forward and have set their sights on the Sporting star.

Tottenham are keen on Viktor Gyokeres

HITC say that Arsenal have now joined in the race for the Gyokeres by their North London rivals, Spurs, who are thought to be ‘keen’ on the 25-year-old.

In addition, the centre-forward is also said to be on the radars of Chelsea, West Ham United and Manchester United.

However, the report points out that Sporting are insisting that they would only let their star man leave if his £86m release clause is met, with the publication adding that the price might put off the likes of Spurs.

Sporting can be notoriously difficult to negotiate with as Tottenham found out during their talks for Pedro Porro last year. I doubt the Lilywhites would be too keen to get involved in a bidding war for Gyokeres.
