Tottenham Hotspur have sent scouts to watch Gent striker Gift Orban, but Chelsea, Manchester United, and Fulham are all thought to be looking at the youngster too.
Gift Orban only joined Gent from Norwegian side Stabæk in January, but has been prolific since arriving in the Belgian league.
The 20-year-old has scored 19 goals in 19 games for Gent, including five goals in the Europa Conference League (Transfermarkt).
Even more impressive, Orban has scored three hat-tricks this season. In one Europa Conference League game against Turkish side Basaksehir, he scored three goals within three minutes.
The youngster featured against West Ham in the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League, but was unable to prevent his side from being defeated by the Hammers.
With a goalscoring ratio of a goal every 75 minutes this year, it’s no wonder multiple Premier League clubs have been alerted to the talented Nigerian wonderkid already.
According to a report from the Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur are among those who have been taking a closer look at Orban.
Tottenham scouts were sent to watch Orban in action recently, but they weren’t the only ones.
Apparently, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Fulham have also had their representatives out in Belgium to keep an eye on the attacker.
However, it is thought Gent are not in a position where they need to sell a player described as “one of their key assets” given the fact his current contract runs through to 2027.
The report claims the player himself is “happy to stay and develop” with his current side in the meantime.
Spurs Web Opinion
Those numbers are insane and Orban sounds like one to watch for the future, for sure.
It’s highly unlikely anyone would be signing him this summer, but if he performs like this again next season, I just hope Spurs are ready to make a move.
