Report: Tottenham are one of three PL clubs looking at Championship playmaker

Tottenham Hotspur, Brentford, and Brighton are all eyeing up a move for Leicester City playmaker, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall ahead of the summer, with a move likely if the Foxes cannot achieve promotion this season.

Leicester have been right at the top of the Championship throughout the whole season, but currently find themselves at risk of having to battle their way through the play-offs to get back to the Premier League, rather than running away with the title as expected.

Dewsbury-Hall has been on fire for Leicester, despite their recent inconsistent form. The midfielder has 12 goals and 13 assists in 39 appearances in the Championship this term (Transfermarkt).

Whether Leicester do make it back to the top flight or not remains to be seen, but we could well be seeing Dewsbury-Hall in the Premier League once more either way.

Spurs in the hunt for Dewsbury-Hall

That’s because the 25-year-old has a queue of admirers in the Premier League, including Tottenham. However, Football Insider claim Brighton and Brentford will rival the Lilywhites for Dewsbury-Hall’s signature.

It is said the three clubs all had approaches turned down by Leicester in January, and they are all set to go “head-to-head” again in the summer.

Now, an exit for Dewsbury-Hall is expected to be “inevitable” if they cannot secure a return to the top flight at the first time of asking. And, sources suggest a “bargain” deal could be on the horizon if that is the case.

With Leicester facing financial difficulties, the fact that the sale of Dewsbury-Hall would represent “pure profit” for the club as an academy product would go a long way to “alleviating” their situation.

Spurs Web Opinion

I really like Dewsbury-Hall, but would it make sense for him to come in as James Maddison‘s understudy when he’s already been there and done that at Leicester previously? I’d love to see him sign for us, but I think he will go for a move that’ll guarantee him first-team football.
