Report: Tottenham are one of three Premier League sides vying for £46m-rated striker

According to reports from Portugal, Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a potential move for Benfica striker Carlos Vinicius this transfer window.

Vinicius has been a revelation since joining the Eagles from Monaco last summer, as he finished as the league’s top scorer in what was his first taste of Portuguese football.

The centre-forward, who found the back of the net 22 times in all competitions last season (transfermarkt.com), is reportedly generating considerable interest.

A report from TVI24 in Portugal (as relayed by TBR Football) names Spurs as one of three Premier League sides who are looking to snap up the Brazilian this transfer window.

It is revealed that Benfica had already rejected an offer of around €45 million (£41m) from an unnamed club earlier this window for Vinicius.

The report claims that while the Portuguese giants were hoping for a figure in the region of €60 million (£55.5m) earlier in the transfer window, they are now ready to accept around €50-€55 million (£46m-£51m) as they need to balance the books.
