Report: Tottenham are one of two leading contenders to sign striker this summer

According to the latest reports emerging from Mexico, Santiago Gimenez now looks increasingly likely to end up at either Tottenham Hotspur or AC Milan this summer.

Mexican outlet TUDN point out that Gimenez and his agent’s visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday was not coincidental.

They say that the striker’s entourage had also previously made a trip to Italy to hold discussions with the Milan hierarchy over a summer move. The outlet adds that as things stand, ‘everything indicates’ that the 23-year-old’s future is ‘between these two’ clubs.

AC Milan and Spurs both like Santiago Gimenez

It is explained that while Ange Postecoglou’s men have been interested in the centre-forward for ‘a long time’, a move to Italy cannot be ruled out for the player this summer.

The report claims that the Rossoneri have also identified Gimenez as a priority target, with Feyenoord wanting $45m (£36m) for their star man.

This same information has also been backed up by Mexican journalist Julio Rodriguez, who claims that the striker is likely to end up at either the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium or the San Siro this summer.

While Milan have plenty of pull, one would think that Tottenham would fancy their chances of beating the Serie A club to Gimenez as they would be able to blow the Italian side out of the water financially.
