Report: Tottenham are part of a five-horse race for Serie A star

Tuttosport have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are now in danger of missing out on Riccardo Calafiori as the race for the Bologna centre-back heats up ahead of the summer.

The report says that Juventus, AC Milan and Napoli have shown interest in signing the defender while Spurs and Bayer Leverkusen have also ‘come forward’ to sign him in recent weeks.

It is revealed that the ‘auction is open’ for the time being, with Bologna telling interested clubs to put €25m (£21.5m) on the table to sign the youngster.

Juventus in pole position to sign Riccardo Calafiori

According to the outlet, many teams have ‘tested the waters’ for a possible deal for Calafiori but it is Juventus who are at the front of the queue at the moment.

The Old Lady’s technical director, Cristiano Giuntoli, has allegedly been working on this deal for months and the player is thought to be ‘ready’ to move to Turin.

The publication adds that the Bianconeri are now ready to offer the Italy Under-21 international a five-year deal worth around €2m-€2.5m (£1.7m-£2.1m).

Spurs Web Opinion

By the sounds of it, Tottenham have to act fast if they have hopes of beating Juve to Calafiori’s signature. While Spurs will not have much of a problem outbidding the Turin club and offering the centre-back a bigger pay package, the youngster’s head might have been turned by the Old Lady’s interest.
