Report: Tottenham are planning double transfer raid on Serie A club

Journalist Graeme Bailey has claimed on Planet Sport that Tottenham Hotspur are planning a double raid of AC Milan for midfielder Franck Kessie and centre-back Alessio Romagnoli.

Kessie is now into the final six months of his contract at Milan and previous reports have indicated that Antonio Conte wants the Ivory Coast international to be brought to the club.

Tottenham are thought to have offered Milan the chance to exchange the Ivory Coast international for Tanguy Ndombele but the Serie A giants have allegedly turned it down.

Like Kessie, Romagnoli’s contract at the San Siro also runs out in the summer and the Italy international is alleged to be one of the centre-backs on Conte’s radar.

Bailey has now revealed that Spurs are expected to make a contract offer to Kessie, who is currently away at the African Cup of Nations.

The journalist has said that the North Londoners are also readying a deal for Kessie’s Milan teammate Romagnoli.

The centre-back is said to have rejected the Rossoneri’s contract offer and is thought to be ‘expecting an offer’ from Spurs.

If Kessie and Romagnoli do become available on free transfers in the summer, one would expect plenty of clubs around Europe to show interest. Hopefully, Paratici can use his connections in Italy to potentially steal a march on Tottenham’s competitors for the pair’s signature.
