Report: Tottenham are preparing £32m bid for Premier League midfielder

According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are preparing an offer for Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.

With little over two days left until the window slams shut, Tottenham are yet to make a single signing or shift any of their deadwood.

The Telegraph reported on Friday that the Spurs hierarchy were in a state of panic after their pursuits of Adama Traore and Luis Diaz fell through, with the North London club now plotting a move to sign Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski.

The Mail have also backed up The Telegraph’s assertion about Spurs panicking at their inability to bring their targets in.

The report reveals that apart from Kulusevski, Spurs are also planning on making a late offer for Luiz. The North London club are allegedly set to offer £32m to Aston Villa for the Brazilian.

However, The Mail add that even Spurs’ pursuit of Luiz is expected to fail as Steven Gerrard is keen to hold on to the 23-year-old.

Whether or not the Spurs hierarchy are panicking, it stands to reason that Paratici and Conte will have likely arrived on a list of targets for each position, depending on which deal proves feasible.

So, Kulusevski might have been the backup that they had identified for Diaz. Similarly, Luiz could be an alternative for Sofyan Amrabat or potentially the other way round.
