Report: Tottenham are pushing to make fifth signing within ‘next few hours’

Sport have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are pushing to complete the signing of Clement Lenglet within the next few hours.

Football.London reported on Wednesday that contrary to other reports, Spurs were not close to completing the loan signing of Lenglet despite holding talks with Barcelona.

However, Goal offered a positive update earlier today, revealing that the Frenchman’s move to Tottenham is ‘on track’, and that the Lilywhites and Barcelona had agreed on how the centre-back’s salary would be split.

The report added that the two clubs were negotiating on the purchase option for Lenglet, with the Catalan club wanting it to be around €20m (£16.9m).

Sport have now revealed that Antonio Conte’s men are keen to complete the deal over the next few hours so that the 27-year-old can fly with the rest of the Tottenham squad to South Korea on Saturday.

The report adds that the only detail currently being discussed by the two clubs is how the salary tax issues for Lenglet would be adjusted.

Fabrizio Romano has even given the transfer his ‘here we go’ seal of approval.

Spurs Web Opinion

I believe Tottenham will iron out their differences with Barcelona and Middlesbrough over Lenglet and Spence respectively over the next 24-48 hours so that both players would be able to travel with the squad to South Korea on Saturday.
