Report: Tottenham are ready to offer £25.9m to sign central defender target

Speculation linking Radu Dragusin with a move to Tottenham Hotspur is heating up and the club are reportedly ready to offer around £25.9m to sign him.

All signs point to Tottenham being in the market for a new centre-half next month. Ange Postecoglou himself has even spoken publicly about his need for defensive reinforcements (Football.London).

That’s because summer signing Micky van de Ven is on the sidelines currently with a hamstring injury. The young Dutchman has been out since the start of November, and is not expected back on the pitch for a while still.

With Eric Dier also struggling, and Ashley Phillips on the peripheries of the first team, it’s been down to Ben Davies to fill in alongside Cristian Romero.

Tottenham are willing to bid £25.9m for Dragusin

But, January will likely see a new defender arriving in North London, and Radu Dragusin is one of the latest names to be linked with Spurs (CalcioMercato). And now, it seems the interest from the Lilywhites is hotting up.

Il Secolo XIX report that Tottenham’s interest in Dragusin is “increasingly strong” and the club are “ready to offer” around €30m (£25.9m) to bring him in during the winter window.

I would still rather us go for Jean-Clair Todibo, but spending roughly £10m less on a player of Dragusin’s quality would not be a bad move at all. This is definitely one to watch.
