Report: Tottenham are ready to submit new ‘big-money’ bid for PL star

Football Insider have reported that Tottenham are ready to submit a new ‘big-money’ offer for Brighton’s Leandro Trossard after their first bid was rejected by the Premier League club.

Tottenham are said to be keen on exploiting Trossard’s current situation at Brighton, as they search the January transfer market for a Lucas Moura replacement. Trossard’s agency made a statement urging Brighton to sell the star this week after a fallout with Roberto De Zerbi (Telegraph).

While Trossard is said to be keen on a move to a Champions League club and is excited by the links to Tottenham, Brighton still have no interest in selling the attacker in January.

Spurs reportedly want to secure the signing of the Belgian international before he moves his way up Chelsea’s transfer list.

This comes after 90 Min reported last week that Tottenham expressed an interest in signing Trossard, even adding that Brighton were willing to sell but only at the right price.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I’m not sure what would constitute a big-money offer here. The player has a contract that is running down, wants to leave, his agency have made a public statement, and he has fallen out with De Zerbi. That doesn’t seem to add up to a big-money move, more like a bargain.
