Report: Tottenham are willing to make three January signings under one condition

The Times have reported that Tottenham are willing to make as many as three new signings in the January transfer window, but only with clarity over Antonio Conte’s future.

The report speaks about the choice Spurs must make over whether to back Conte now and make him commit to a contract extension, or accept he is not the man for the job and start looking towards a transition.

With only two weeks left of the January transfer window, Spurs and Conte must come to some kind of decision as quickly as possible.

The Times claim that Spurs are open to signing three new players, which would be music to the ears of fans, but they are wary of committing to permanent deals when Conte could leave and any new manager may not be keen on the signings.

Conte apparently wants a left-sided attacking player, a right wingback and a central midfielder.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Three new signings in the right areas could be game-changing for Spurs. However, I do agree with the idea that signing players Conte wants only for him to leave is pointless. It will only set Spurs back further under the next manager. We need clarity more than anything at the moment.
