Report: Bayern Munich will hold talks today about potential new Harry Kane bid

Fabrizio Romano has told That’sFootballTV that Bayern Munich will hold a meeting with Thomas Tuchel today to discuss whether to make an improved bid for Harry Kane or walk away.

Reporter James Green originally told Sky Sports Football Daily that Bayern Munich executives are meeting today to discuss their move for Harry Kane, but that was before the news broke that Tottenham had rejected the German club’s latest bid for the England captain (Athletic).

It was widely reported last Friday that Bayern had submitted a final offer of €100m (£86.1m) plus add-ons for Kane, with the Bundesliga club allegedly ready to turn their attention to other alternatives if the offer was not accepted (Telegraph).

Fabrizio Romano revealed on his YouTube channel on Sunday that Daniel Levy had not responded to the offer. He explained that while Bayern were not happy with the lack of urgency from the Spurs chairman, they remain optimistic about the deal – but that bid has now been turned down.

Bayern scramble to hold another Harry Kane meeting

According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayern will now hold a meeting with Thomas Tuchel to discuss their next course of action. There are two choices – bid again for Harry Kane, or admit defeat and walk away.

This certainly changes things. There is under a week to go until the season starts, not to mention the friendly against Barcelona tomorrow. Is there really time to get a new bid in and a deal done now? £25m is a huge gap to bridge in that time, but we can’t celebrate just yet.
