Report: Tottenham ban 48 of their own fans indefinitely

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly banned 48 of their own fans indefinitely after a breach of rules surrounding their recent Champions League group stage match against Red Star Belgrade.

While Spurs welcomed the Serbian side, they were not planning on hosting any away fans at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. This came after Red Star were banned from selling any away tickets after racist chanting in a qualifying match.

However, on the night, the BBC report that more than 200 Red Star Belgrade fans made their way into the stadium, despite the ban.

The report adds that Tottenham investigated the incident and found that some home fans and One Hotspur members had chosen to purchase multiple tickets before selling them on to Red Star supporters illegally.

As a result, 48 fans have been banned from attending Tottenham games indefinitely.

Spurs Web Opinion:

A worthy punishment. Anyone who wants to buy tickets, taking the chance away from others, before selling them onto the opposition is no fan at all.
