Tottenham Hotspur are set to challenge Arsenal in their pursuit of Reims central defender Axel Disasi, according to the latest reports from France.
Disasi has been a rock at the back for Reims this season and his performances seem to have attracted the attention of multiple clubs around Europe.
Spurs are said to have watched the 22-year-old on several occasions this season while the likes of Arsenal, West Ham, and Monaco have also kept tabs on the defender (Daily Mail).
Orgullobiri reported this week that the Frenchman prefers a move to La Liga amidst interest from Sevilla.
RMC Sport (as relayed by GFFN) have now suggested that Spurs are battling Arsenal for the Reims star, with the Ligue 1 club said to be demanding around €15m excluding bonuses for his signature this summer.
The report reveals that Reims have received multiple offers for the defender so far. However, all offers have reportedly fallen short of their valuation. It is also asserted that the defender is yet to decide on his next destination.
Spurs Web Opinion
The report in RMC Sport seems to primarily focus on Arsenal’s pursuit of Disasi. I suspect our name is just being thrown in by the player’s representative or Reims in order to increase his asking price. I doubt if Disasi is an option we are actually considering.
