According to Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur are one of several Premier League clubs plotting a move for Feyenoord midfielder Mats Wieffer this summer.

Wieffer has built a reputation as one of Eridivise’s most consistent midfielders since making the move across Rotterdam from Excelsior to Feyenoord back in 2022.

Fichajes have now named Spurs as one of the clubs interested in Wieffer but the North London club are far from alone, with the midfielder also said to be in the sights of Man Utd, Newcastle and Barcelona.

In addition, it is revealed that Arne Slot has requested Liverpool to secure the Feyenoord star this summer as he prepares to take over at Anfield from Jurgen Klopp.

The report says that the Reds are ‘determined’ to win the race for the Dutch star as they look to revamp their midfield ahead of next season. Finally, the publication suggests that despite Barca’s keenness to sign Wieffer, the player appears to be Premier League-bound this summer.

Liverpool would have a big advantage in the race due to the Arne Slot factor. However, Feyenoord’s interest in Bryan Gil is well documented and Spurs may use the winger as a bargaining chip to strike a deal with the Eredivisie club for the midfielder.
